I just sent a e-mail to my best and most important friends to give them some information on how the next terrorist attack might take place. It gave the scenario that an in-flight attack was very, very unlikely. But because we don't check our bags before going into an airport, that would be a very likely scenario -- an unattended piece of luggage inside the airport.
It also spoke about having a plan to pick up your children because another likely scenario is that cell phone activity would be cut off.
And the reaction to this by many of my friends was negative ranging from "I don't believe this," to "it's a hoax," (that one was especially confusing) to "I just don't want to know."
All the spirituality you can muster in your life won't protect you from negative events if you consider it spiritual to ignore warnings. The universe very often uses people to warn other people. It's very difficult for the universe to speak. So it has other ways of sending messages to us. So I would advise you to never ignore what people say before you give it some thought and determine if it is something you might have been meant to hear.
And never think ignoring a threat will prevent it from happening to you. Quite the opposite. The more you are prepared for an event, the less likely it is to happen. You know that the minute you let your insurance expire, you will have an accident. That has happened to all of us. And there is a good reason behind that. The only fear is fear itself. So when you feel protected, you ameliorate the fear and consequently the problem itself. Anything you can do to make you and your family feel safe is effective in eliminating fear.
In fact that is what our government is doing at the airports. They don't really think that shoes are dangerous. They just think that by checking them, it will make us feel more secure.
I am personally offended at the power the media had in causing our economy to fail. Just months before September of 2008, CNBC, among others, was telling us to buy stock. Any good financial analyst should have known that the way mortgages were being written would eventually cause a problem. I know nothing about real estate, and I knew that. Most of us knew someone with an interest only mortgage.
Many people in foreclosure just walked out of their houses and left their belongings. Not because they didn't know their house was being foreclosed, but because they just couldn't deal with it. The ability to deal with your problems is a sign of the strength of your spirituality. Spiritual people can handle anything, because they know the universe is behind them.
I wish being spiritual meant nothing would ever happen to you, but I have yet to see a person be able to do that. What I do see is facing the problem, handling it, then letting it go will lead you to something even better than the original problem you faced. I have seen that over and over again in my own life and in so many others.
So I realize I'm on a bit of a rant, but, this disturbs me so much. Ignoring things is how we got where we are now. Please don't ignore our current crisis. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. And in your own life, meet those challenges head on and you will see a result that will surprise you in ways you can't even imagine. Don't allow yourself to feel pity. We are still so lucky compared to other countries in the world.
And especially if you are facing a health issue (the only really important issue), remember that when too much toxic emotional feeling builds up, it may manifest as illness. So forgive everyone you know including yourself. Look for the beauty in life and allow your body, which has it's own built in survival plan, to heal. There is nothing more important to your body than to heal itself. Get out of it's way! And throw in a little nutritionally good food just to give it the tools it needs.
Wishing you all safety, happiness and good health.
