TATUM O'NEIL AND HOW GOD HELPED HER

Tatum O'Neil has an especially troubling astrological chart. She has that dreaded progressed Mars square, this time to Jupiter, the planet of excesses. Additionally it also conjuncts the transiting Jupiter and her progressed Nodes which are considered karmic.
With her progressed Sun siting exactly on the transiting Pluto, death is a possible result of this cycle.
However, as Tatum told Oprah on Friday, she tried to buy drugs on the street and the police picked her up which essentially maintained her sobriety. She said that when she gets started, she cannot stop. Therefore this "intervention" may have saved her life and not just her sobriety.
The thing that struck me about her interview was how many times she talked about the 12-step program and her commitment to it and her belief in a higher power than herself. Most people with this cycle will go down. Very few people, and especially people with an addiction problem, can also survive a bad cycle. But she has so far. And I suspect that her first year of sobriety will turn into her second year of sobriety and then the cycle is over. And this may usher in total sobriety that does not take so much vigilance.
I really admire the pain she is going through and her commitment to not using drugs to make it go away. Sometimes you just have to feel the pain, because that also allows you to release it -- forever.
