WHEN HAPPINESS BRINGS YOU PAIN

I just had one of the most interesting experiences of my career. I've been noticing lately that I'm dead on with negative readings and when I tell someone their career is about to take off and I see money all around them, I get nothing. So today, I talked to one of those clients and hung up the phone and felt like committing suicide. So I called on one of my psychic friends and here's what she told me.
She said that this person was very religious in a former lifetime -- like a cloistered monk or something -- and is having a lot of trouble adjusting to this lifetime where he thinks he should be rich and famous. So by telling him that it is time to make that happen, it puts a lot of pressure on him. It makes him very nervous and he took it out on me.
So if you find that going for this American dream just doesn't put you in that peaceful, wonderful place we should all be in -- the bling thing may just not be for you. We each have our purpose on earth and yours may be something gentle and kind and for the good of humanity. It's not that you're unsuccessful. It's that you don't want that kind of success. Look deep inside yourself and see if your values and your goals are compatible. It's kind of like that strategy and tactic thing Obama and McCain were talking about. We each have a very unique purpose. While watching those rich and famous people may be entertaining, it's really not for everyone. Even some of them -- think Greta Garbo -- run from it. And secretly we all admired her, because she didn't buy into it.

Goodness. This is beautifully insightful. I love how you've put this–looking at a different sort of values as keys to happiness–and I love how true it feels. And what a perfect time to sit with this reminder… )
