You can't imagine how much I wish I'd been the first to predict this (even if I had, I would have said October not September), but in order to know what's going on in a chart, you have to look at it, and I didn't. However on the 19th of September the U.S.'s progressed Jupiter (and remember Jupiter moves very, very slowly, most of us will not get an aspect from Jupiter, but our country is older than we can ever be) squared (bad) Saturn (restrictions) from the 2nd House of Money to the 5th House of Speculation.
So we're in trouble. Astrologically, unless you are in your twenties or very young and should be buying these stocks, most of us will never see a recovery. Because progressed Jupiter is retrograding and then goes direct, it stays in this aspect for a long, long time. My advice, don't look to the stock market to save you.
But also remember, we all have individual charts. And if yours is good, you can make money in the worst of times. So the fact that the country is suffering or even that a lot of people you know are, doesn't mean you have to be. Many people do well in a bad economy. I would just caution you that it is a bad economy and do what you are going to do accordingly. In my opinion, the mistake would be to assume this is going away. If you don't need to spend money now, don't. It might be a good thing for us to take a more spiritual approach to our financial futures and to look at our own responsibility for where we find ourselves. If there is something you need to fix, fix it.
